On December 5, the “Deepening Reform and Transformation Empowerment, Promoting High-Quality Development of Hubei Public Transport – 2025 Annual Meeting of Hubei Public Transport Association,” hosted by the Hubei Urban Public Transport Association, was successfully held in Jingmen. Government officials, industry experts, representatives from public transport companies, and enterprises from the upstream and downstream of the industry chain gathered to explore new directions in digital construction, urban image enhancement, and high-quality development in public transportation.

Keynote Speech: Mapping the Blueprint
At the event, Mr. Song Li, Chairman of Shanghai ZEMSO GROUP, delivered a keynote titled “From Regional Characteristics to City IP: The Aesthetic Expression and Value Creation of Smart Bus Shelters – Building a New Urban Identity for Hubei’s Bus Stops.” His speech painted a vivid picture for the future development of smart bus shelters in Hubei.

Chairman Li shared insights across multiple dimensions, including trends in smart public transport, case studies of city-themed bus shelters, and innovations in station operation value. He emphasized that smart bus shelters are not merely transportation infrastructure but also windows for conveying urban culture. Regional culture, digital services, and intelligent sensing technology together will define the future form of bus shelters. He proposed that bus shelters are future city IP creators, not just transit nodes.
Using the “Wuhan Most Beautiful Cherry Blossom Bus Stop” as an example, Chairman Li demonstrated how a smart bus shelter can evolve from a simple “transport facility” into a “city communication medium, cultural symbol, landmark check-in spot, and digital service terminal.” Once launched, this bus shelter generated significant online attention, boosting regional cultural expression and city branding, making it a typical case of combining smart transportation with urban IP.

He also introduced ZEMSO’s smart bus shelter design system for Hubei Province. Based on the regional cultural characteristics of “one city, one culture; one city, one symbol,” ZEMSO proposed a scenario-based design concept of “one province, one system; one city, one solution.” The company released a series of smart bus shelter examples covering 13 prefecture-level cities. By distilling urban cultural genes, ZEMSO integrates technological language with city symbols, creating a smart bus shelter system that is both regionally recognizable and aligned with future urban development. This provides a reference for aesthetic standards and cultural expression in Hubei’s public transport system.
Association Membership: A New Journey
At the event, ZEMSO officially became a member of the Hubei Public Transport Association. This membership not only recognizes ZEMSO’s expertise and industry influence in smart bus shelters but also provides a broad platform for deep collaboration with Hubei public transport, jointly exploring a full-scenario smart transit model of “digitalized public facilities + urban cultural communication + operational value enhancement.”

As a full-scenario urban furniture solution provider, ZEMSO possesses strong design, R&D, production, and operational capabilities. Leveraging advanced technology and innovative concepts, ZEMSO has successfully delivered numerous exemplary smart bus shelters in Wuhan (Hubei), Chengdu (Sichuan), Fengxian (Shanghai), and internationally in the USA, New Zealand, and Romania, gaining extensive experience and a strong reputation.
Looking ahead, ZEMSO will continue to express urban character through design, enhance citizen experience through technology, and drive intelligent operation of transport systems through innovation. The company aims to help cities transition from infrastructure construction to ecosystem building, brand development, and smart operation. In this vision, bus shelters will no longer serve merely as waiting points but become new urban interfaces that showcase city civilization, express urban values, and connect to future lifestyles.
